PAVLO > October 26, 2015 12:30 Concert

Pavlo is described as a "Guitar Master" whose gift for original melodies is in equal measure to his genius ability to fully engage any audience. Anywhere. From independently growing his own musical genre, he calls "Mediterranean Music", Pavlo's style has attracted the respect of Gordon Lightfoot; Moses Znaimer; Julio Iglesias; R Kelly; Jay Z; even His Royal Highness, Prince Charles!

Notoriously humble and charming, Pavlo was raised in Toronto, Canada within a supportive and lively Greek family whose motto was: 'have the courage to do what you love; and the drive to do it well."

Pavlo has been quoted to say. "In life, there is no set list." Which explains his spontaneity during every performance; however, at a Pavlo concert, there are certainly some things you can expect: REAL music; ORIGINAL melodies; well honed skills and, of courses, standing ovations!

"If you feel the need to physically express yourself, please, feel free to dance." - Pavlo

Fast Facts

  • He is a spokesperson for World Vision; through his concerts, he has helped sponsor over 800 children to date
  • When Pavlo was four or five years old, he asked his parents for a guitar for Christmas. Fortunately, they bought him one !

What A Wonderful World
by Louis Armstrong
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3yCcXgbKrE

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"

They're really saying "I love you"
I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Oh yeah

I Have Dream

by ABBA

I have a dream, a song to sing, to help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of the fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fall
I believe in angels, something good in everything I see
I believe in angels, when I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy, to help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels, something good in everything I see
I believe in angels, when I know the time is right for me
I'll corss the stream, I have a dream
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing, to help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels, something good in everything I see
I believe in angels, when I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream
I'll cross the stream, I have a dream

MY WAY

By Frank Sinatra

And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way .

Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill - my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh, no. Oh no, not me.
I did it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got ?
If not himself - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.

Yes it was my way.

Beautiful Life

by Ace of Base

You can do waht you want just seize the day
What you're doing tomorrow's gonna come your way
Don't you ever consider givin' up, you will find, oooh

(chorus)
It's a beautiful life, oh oh ooo
It's a beautiful life oh oh ooo
It's a beautiful life, oh oh ooo
I just wanna be here beside you
And stay until the break of dawn

Take a walk in the park when you feel down
There's so many things there
That's gonna lift you up
See the nature in bloom a laughing child
Such a dream, oooh

(chorus)

You're looking for somewhere to belong
You're standing all alone
For someone to guide you on your way
Now and Forever

It's a beautiful life, oh oh ooo
It's a beautiful life oh oh ooo
It's a beautiful life, oh oh ooo
I just wanna be anybody

Living in different ways
It's a beautiful life
I'm gonna take you to a place I've never been
BEfore oh yeah
It's a beautiful life
I'm gonna take you in my arms and fly away
With you tonight

(chorus) X2

You Raise Me Up

By Josh Groben

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
lUntil you come and sit awhile with me.

(chorus X2)
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountaiins;
You raise me up, to wlak on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up ... To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each resless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimps eternity.

(chorus X2)
You raise me up ... To more than I can be.

Frederic Chopin

Frederic Chopin was born in 1810 and died in 1849. He lived only 39 years. His main health problem was tuberculosis. He was born in Poland in a village near the capital Warsaw. His mother was Polish and his father French immigrant to Poland. Chopin grew in Warsaw and completed his music education there.

He composed many mature works before leaving Poland in 1830 at the age of 20.

At this time Poland was not an independent country. This part of Poland with Warsaw was occupied by Russia. There were frequent national uprisings and Polish patriots were persecuted by Russia. That is why many young people had to escape this country. In Paris there was a strong Polish Center named Great Emigration. Chopin escaped too.

He was absolutely talented pianist and composer. Now all the people in the world can listen to his music. His most works are for solo piano, as piano sonata, mazurka, nocturne, polonaise, etiude, impromptu, scherzo and prelude. Every 5 years there is an International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Many young pianists particularly from China and Japan participate in the contest. In 1970 the first prize winner was an American Garrick Ohlsson, and in 2000 the Chinese pianist Li Yundi and in 2005 the Polish pianist Rafal Blechacz.

Ambitious 12/04/12

Chopin is one of my favourite composers. His music is amazing.

This song is about a young girl going to her wedding. She had a beautiful dress and invited many guests. One day, she saw her boy walking in the street with another girl. She was very worried and cried. Her friend reassured her that everything would be OK. “Don’t worry.”
“This boy isn’t worth even one tear.”

Celine Dion
I Love You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR3hg452VGc

This is my favourite singer. She is a French Canadian and has 14 siblings. She started to sing when she was five years old. She wrote her first lyrics when she was 12 years old. She became one of the biggest pop music singers. At first, she just sung in French but she decided to learn English to break into the American market. English is her second language. She has a very easy sound that everyone can understand.

She talks about the words “I Love You” and they change your life forever.

Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen; Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen - but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose, and if you ever saw him you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say, "Rudolph, with your nose so bright- won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him, and they shouted out with glee, "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer - you'll go down in history!"

White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas Just like the ones I used to know Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white.

Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman, was a jolly happy soul, With a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made of coal.
Frosty the Snowman, is a fairytale, they say. He was made of snow, but the children know he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found, For when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around!
Oh, Frosty, the Snowman, was alive as he could be; and the children say he could laugh and play, just the same as you and me.
Thumpety thump, thump, thumpety thump, thump, look at Frosty go.
Thumpety thump, thump, thumpety thump, thump, over the hills of snow.
Frosty the Snowman, knew the sun was hot that day, so he said, "Let's run, and we'll have some fun now, before I melt away."
Down to the village, with a broomstick in his hand, Running here and there, all around the square, sayin', "Catch me if you can."
He led them down the streets of town, right to the traffic cop; and only paused a moment, when he heard him holler, "Stop!"
For Frosty, the Snowman, had to hurry on his way, But he waved goodbye, sayin' "Don't you cry, I'll be back again some day."

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Lyrics by Wildhorn, Frank

I really can't stay
But baby, it's cold outside
I've got to go away
But baby, it's cold outside

This evening has been
Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice
I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice

My mother will start to worry
Beautiful, what's your hurry?
My father will be pacing the floor
Listen to the fireplace roar

So really I'd better scurry
Beautiful, please don't hurry
But maybe just a half a drink more
Put some records on while I pour

The neighbors might think
Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink?
No cabs to be had out there

I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell
I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell

I ought to say no, no, no, sir
Mind if I move in closer?
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
What's the sense in hurting my pride?

I really can't stay
Baby, don't hold out
Oh, but it's cold outside

I simply must go
But baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no
But baby, it's cold outside

This welcome has been
How lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm
Look out the window at that storm

My sister will be suspicious
Gosh, your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
Waves upon a tropical shore

My maiden aunt's mind is vicious
Ooh, your lips are delicious
But maybe just a cigarette more
Never such a blizzard before

I've got to get home
But baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb
It's up to your knees out there

You've really been grand
I thrill when you touch my hand
But don't you see
How can you do this thing to me?

There's bound to be talk tomorrow
Think of my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied
If you caught pneumonia and died

I really can't stay
Get over that old doubt
Oh, but it's cold outside

Her longtime mentor Clive Davis was to hold his annual concert and dinner Saturday, and a representative of the show said it would proceed.
Houston was supposed to appear at the gala, and Davis had told The Associated Press that she would perhaps perform: "It's her favorite night of the year ... (so) who knows by the end of the evening," he said.
